Joseph Alfrey has been sentenced to 8.5 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to three counts of attempting to commit sexual exploitation of a minor, which are class 3 felonies and considered dangerous crimes against children. He also pleaded guilty to one count of possession of narcotic drugs, a class 4 felony.
Attorney General Kris Mayes commented on the sentencing: “Exploiting children is abhorrent and will not be tolerated in Arizona,” said Attorney General Mayes. “My office will continue to prosecute child predators and protect Arizona’s kids.”
The sentencing took place at Maricopa County Superior Court on October 29, 2025. After serving his prison term, Alfrey will be placed on lifetime probation. He is required to register as a sex offender and must participate in drug treatment and counseling programs.
