On September 30, 2025, a federal grand jury in Phoenix issued a 23-count superseding indictment against five individuals from Dilkon, Arizona. The defendants—Ryan Adelbert Johnson, Alexandra Johnson, Charles Lyle Truax, Mike Duffy III, and Sherry Duffy—face charges related to a shooting incident that took place in March 2022 in Teesto on the Navajo Nation. The incident resulted in the deaths of three people and injuries to others.

The indictment includes charges of First Degree Murder, Kidnapping Resulting in Death, Felony Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Robbery, and Discharge of a Firearm During a Crime of Violence for Ryan Adelbert Johnson, Alexandra Johnson, Charles Lyle Truax, and Mike Duffy III. Additionally, Mike Duffy III, Alexandra Johnson, Charles Lyle Truax, and Sherry Duffy are charged with Tampering with an Official Proceeding and/or making False Statements to a Government Agency.

Convictions for First Degree Murder and Kidnapping Resulting in Death carry mandatory life sentences.

“An indictment is simply a method by which a person is charged with criminal activity and raises no inference of guilt. An individual is presumed innocent until evidence is presented to a jury that establishes guilt beyond a reasonable doubt,” according to the release.

The FBI’s Phoenix office in Flagstaff led the investigation. The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona is prosecuting the case.
